The LumiraHair measurement guide

Good fit begins
with clear measurements.

Base dimensions, hair length and cap measurements describe different things. Keep them separate, note the unit each time, and confirm the details for your selected model.

Before you begin

A few minutes.
A more useful starting point.

Use a soft measuring tape, a mirror and a way to write down your results. A second person can help you keep the tape in the intended position.

01

Write the unit.

Record inches or centimeters beside every number. One inch equals 2.54 centimeters; a bare number is easy to misunderstand.

02

Keep the tape gentle.

Follow the relevant scalp or head measurement path without pulling the tape tight. Repeat the measurement to check the result.

03

Add your model name.

Share the full model name with your measurements. A topper base and a full-wig cap use different sizing information.

Measure the area
you want to cover.

  1. Identify the coverage boundary. Note the front, back and sides of the area you want the piece to cover.
  2. Record both directions. Measure side to side and front to back, following the scalp. Label each result and its unit.
  3. Consider attachment around the area. Tell us where natural hair is available for clips or blending, and ask which attachment method suits the model.
  4. Compare the base, not the hair length. Ask how the published base dimensions are oriented and whether the shape works with your measurements.

LFR01 lists two different base measurements. Confirm which option you need when ordering. M09's three clips require suitable natural hair for attachment.

02 / Your desired finish

Hair length is
its own measurement.

Hair length describes the strands, not the base or the cap. Think about where you want the finished hair to fall and how it will blend with your own style.

  • Share the selected length and the original color code from the product page.
  • Ask where the length measurement starts and whether it is measured with the hair straight.
  • Allow for the finished cut, layers and texture when discussing your preferred look.
  • If a product selector only says “SIZE,” confirm whether that value refers to hair length for that model.
Compare hair and base terminology
Hair length is separate from the base An abstract curved base with strands extending downward. A separate vertical arrow marks the hair-length direction, without specifying a length or a model-specific starting point. Base Hair length

03 / Full wigs

Check the cap fit,
not just its size label.

For a full wig, start with head circumference. Ask us to confirm the complete measurement paths and cap dimensions for the model you are considering.

  1. Measure around the head. Position the tape along the intended front hairline, above the ears and around the nape.
  2. Keep it comfortably snug. Do not pull tightly or include extra bulk that will not be under the cap when you wear it.
  3. Record additional paths when requested. Front-to-nape and ear-to-ear measurements need an agreed path; ask for model-specific guidance.
  4. Confirm before choosing M or Medium. A size label is not a substitute for the cap measurements and the way the cap contacts your scalp.

FW-M02, LH1001 and FW-M06 have smooth-scalp or complete-hair-loss requirements in their wearing guidance. Discuss your hair and attachment needs before selecting a cap.

Your fit checklist

  • Complete model name, or the type of coverage you need
  • Coverage: side to side and front to back, with units
  • For a full wig: head circumference and any requested cap measurements
  • Selected hair length and original color code
  • Natural hair available for blending or attachment
  • Quantity, delivery country and any questions about fit
A little more clarity

Your measurement questions.

Is the “SIZE” option the cap size?

Not necessarily. Some product selectors use “SIZE” for a numbered option associated with hair length. Keep the original value and ask what it means for that exact model.

Should I choose a larger topper base to be safe?

Choose the base to match the area you want to cover and the available attachment points. A larger base can change how the piece sits and blends, so share your measurements before choosing.

Do base dimensions describe the full coverage area?

They describe the outer dimensions of the base. Curved and shaped bases do not cover a perfect rectangle. Compare the shape and the position of the piece as well as its listed dimensions.

Can I use the same cap size for every full wig?

Confirm the dimensions, materials and adjustment options for each model. Size labels can be less informative than the actual measurement paths and the intended scalp contact.

What if I am unsure about my measurements?

Send the results you have, with the units and the model you are considering. Explain how you measured each path so we can help identify the next details to check.
