The LumiraHair buying guide

Start with the coverage. Find your next favorite style.

A hairline piece, a topper and a full wig solve different styling needs. Begin with where you want coverage, then compare the base, attachment, color and length.

01 / Choose your coverage

Three starting points.
One personal choice.

Choose by the area you want to cover and the hair available for blending and attachment. A larger base is not automatically a better fit.

Hairline piece

Refine the front.

For a focused change around the front hairline or temples while keeping most of your own hair visible.

Start with LFR01. Compare its base options and confirm how the piece will be attached and blended.

Hair topper

Add coverage at the top.

A partial piece for the parting or crown, designed to work with the hair around the covered area.

Compare the available base sizes. Measure the area first, then check that the attachment method suits your remaining hair.

Compare the toppers
Full wig

Plan an overall look.

A full cap provides overall coverage. Cap measurements and the materials touching the scalp matter as much as the finished hairstyle.

Compare the full-wig collection. Some cap designs have specific smooth-scalp requirements; discuss fit before ordering.

02 / Meet the catalog

A clear comparison,
model by model.

Use the complete model name when asking a question or placing an order. In particular, M06 is a topper; FW-M06 is a full wig.

Base measurements refer to the partial piece, not hair length or full-wig cap circumference.
ModelCoverageBase or capConstructionChoosing your piece
FW-18 Full wig M cap Full-lace design · Remy human hair Confirm the cap materials, attachment and scalp requirements for your chosen piece.
FW-M02 Full wig M cap Hand-tied construction · adjustable fit Confirm cap fit and contact materials; intended for complete hair loss or a smooth scalp.
FW-M05 Topper 7.5 × 8 in Fully hand-tied mesh base A larger topper base, rather than a full-wig cap.
FW-M06 Full wig Medium cap Fully hand-tied soft cap Confirm cap measurements; intended for complete hair loss or a smooth scalp.
FW-M08 Topper 3 × 5 in Mesh base · Remy human hair A compact topper; confirm the attachment method for your needs.
LFR01 Hairline piece 1.5 × 11 or 2.75 × 4.25 in Swiss lace base For the front hairline and temples. Confirm which base option you need.
LH1001 Full wig M cap Hand-tied front · machine-wefted back Hand-tied front and wefted back; intended for complete hair loss or a smooth scalp.
M06 Topper 5 × 6 in Hand-tied base A mid-size topper. This is a different product from the FW-M06 full wig.
M07 Topper 6 × 6.5 in Mesh base · Remy human hair Compare the wider base with your measured coverage area.
M09 Topper 2.5 × 5 in Hand-tied mono center · 3 clips Three clips need suitable natural hair for attachment.
M10 Topper 5.5 × 6 in Swiss lace front · mono design Consider the lace front when planning a style that shows the hairline.

Base shape, attachment and cap materials affect fit. Confirm the details of your selected model and color before you order.

03 / Know the words

Hair, base and construction
tell different stories.

Look at each detail separately. A hair-material description does not tell you how the cap is made, and one hand-tied area does not mean the entire piece is hand tied.

Human hair & Remy
Human hair describes the fiber. Remy refers to the hair cuticles and their alignment. It does not, by itself, mean the hair has never been colored or processed.
Virgin hair
A description of the hair's processing history. Ask about the exact model and shade; do not assume every finished color has the same treatment history.
Mono base
Monofilament describes a base material and the area in which it is used. Check the parting area and perimeter rather than assuming every mono piece has a lace front.
Lace front & full lace
Lace front describes the front edge. Full lace describes a broader cap construction. Ask which areas use lace and how the edges are finished.
Hand tied & machine wefted
These describe how the hair is attached. A piece can combine methods: LH1001 has a hand-tied front and a machine-wefted back.
Clips, silicone & other attachment
Attachment must suit the piece and the wearer. Clips need hair they can grip; silicone contact designs can have specific scalp requirements. Confirm the method for your model.
04 / Bring the details together

Measure first.
Then choose your finish.

A useful shortlist combines the coverage you need with the way you want to wear your hair. A clear message helps us discuss the right details with you.

Open the measurement guide
  1. Record the coverage or cap measurements. Keep base width, base length, hair length and head circumference in separate fields.
  2. Discuss attachment. Tell us whether there is natural hair around the area and how you plan to wear the piece.
  3. Keep the original color code. Share the exact code from the product page. Ask about current color references before choosing a blend.
  4. Confirm the length and style. If the selector is labeled “SIZE,” ask what the number means for that model.
  5. Share your destination and quantity. For a wholesale or custom project, include packaging needs and your preferred timeline.
05 / Think beyond the first wear

Care for the piece
you actually choose.

Follow model-specific care.

Ask for the washing, detangling and attachment-care instructions for your exact base and hair color. Handle the base and attachment points gently.

Check before heat or color.

Confirm any heat limits and coloring guidance before styling. A Remy description alone does not establish that every shade can be bleached or restyled in the same way.

Plan for repeat wear.

Ask how to store your piece and when to review its fit or attachments. Wear patterns, styling and care affect how a piece performs over time.

A little more clarity

Your buying questions.

Can a topper replace a full wig?

A topper covers a section of the head and works with surrounding hair. A full wig provides overall coverage. Choose by the area to cover and the available attachment points, rather than by base size alone.

Do all toppers use clips?

No single attachment method should be assumed across the range. M09 specifically has three clips; ask us to confirm the attachment method for another model before ordering.

Does “Remy” also mean “Virgin”?

No. Remy concerns cuticle alignment; Virgin concerns processing history. Check the description of the specific model and color, especially when you are planning additional coloring.

Can I start with one piece?

Yes. Retail purchases and standard wholesale orders can start with one piece. Custom and OEM projects are reviewed separately according to the specifications, quantity and written quotation.

How do I choose a color online?

Keep the original color code from the product page and ask about the current color reference or sample options. Screen settings and lighting can change how a color looks.

Does processing time include delivery?

Processing and shipping are separate. Ask us to confirm the preparation time, shipping option and destination-specific estimate for the piece you select.
